Toronto's former Juve Italy
striker Sebastian Giovinco has been named the Most Valuable
PLayer (MVP) in Major League Soccer after a remarkable first
season in the North American soccer league.
Turin-born Giovinco, 28, also won the league's Golden
Boot award with 22 goals and a league-high 16 assists,
breaking the record for combined goals and assists.
He was also the MLS Newcomer of the Year and was named to
the season's Best XI squad.
Giovinco helped Toronto FC reach the playoffs for the first
time and in the process played his way back into Antonio Conte's
Italy set-up.
