Welcoming would solve all problems,
Life Senator and Holocaust survivor Liliana Segre told a student
who asked her how to live without conflicts at a Holocaust
Remembrance Day event hosted by President Sergio Mattarella at
the presidential Quirinale Palace on Tuesday.
"Welcoming would solve all problems", "said the 94-year-old.
Senator Segre also recalled the indifference of the city of
Milan in the face of the deportation of Jews loaded onto open
trucks and kicked and punched by fascists and Germans, the
indifference of her teacher, and of many of her friends, except
for three girls who have been close to her all her life.
