President Sergio Mattarella has given Marina Berlusconi one of Italy's top honours, naming her a Knight of Labour.
The 57-year-old chair of Berlusconi family holding company Fininvest and publishing group Mondadori was among 25 people to be added to the Order of Merit for Labour on the recommendation of Business and Made in Italy Minister Adolfo Urso.
Her late father, ex-premier and media billionaire Silvio Berlusconi, had the nickname Il Cavaliere (the knight), as he was awarded the same honour.
"I would like to express my profound gratitude to the Head of State Sergio Mattarella and to the Council of the Order of Merit for Labor for honoring me with this prestigious accolade," she said.
"I dedicate it to Silvio Berlusconi, my father, who was, and always will be, 'Il Cavaliere'.
"So I want to share this accolade with each person who works in Mondadori, and, more generally, with the people of Mediaset and the entire Fininvest group".
