All tax collection agencies will
be scrapped eventually as Equitalia was recently, Junior Economy
Minister Enrico Zanetti told a talk show to be aired this
evening on RAI public broadcaster. "The measure is destined to
be applied to all... tax collection concessionaires," Zanetti
told Porta a Porta (Door to Door). This will make all taxpayers
equal, Zanetti said. He added the measure is not an amnesty,
because citizens will still have to pay everything they owe,
including fines. "We're acting on the additional
sanctions...that triple the amounts owed," Zanetti explained.
For example, a taxpayer who owes 1,000 euros in back taxes will
pay 1,060 euros to get squared away with the internal revenue
service, while all commissions and additional sanctions will
disappear.
