Junior Economy Minister
Enrico Morando said Monday that the government was studying ways
to cut the labour tax wedge - the difference between workers'
take-home pay and the total cost to firms to employ them -
starting from 2018.
He said these would kick in as the suspension of
social-security contrubutions for some groups of newly hired
workers are phased out.
"The social-security breaks were effective and
extraordinary but not it's time to enter a new phase and think
about reducing the tax wedge in a structural way".
