The 5-Star Movement (M5S) on
Wednesday presented 10 presidential candidates it will submit to
a grassroots vote on leader Beppe Grillo's blog.
They are ex-Democratic Party (PD) chief Pierluigi Bersani,
anticorruption czar Raffaele Cantone, Constitutional law
professor Lorenza Carlassare, anti-mafia prosecutor Nino Di
Matteo, magistrate Ferdinando Imposimato, Banking Consumer
Defense Association (Adusbef) chief Elio Lannutti, magistrate
Paolo Maddalena, ex-PD premier Romano Prodi, archeologist
Salvatore Settis and former Constitutional Court judge Gustavo
Zagrebelsky.
"Our parliamentary caucus came up with these names, which
will be voted on tomorrow on the blog," Grillo wrote on his
blog.
