From 4 to 9 May, the European Multi-Mission Frigate (FREMM) Antonio Marceglia will make a port stop in Singapore, at the Changi naval base, as part of its operational deployment in the Indo-Pacific quadrant. During its stay in the Republic of Singapore, the ship Marceglia will welcome on board the visit of the Ambassador of Italy in Singapore, H.E. Dante Brandi, who will address his welcome greetings to the crew deployed on the flight deck, Admiral Marco Tomassetti - Director of the III Industrial Policy and
International Relations of the Secretariat General of Defence/Directorate General of Armaments.
In line with the strategic objectives of the projection campaign and in the wake of the consolidation of the international cooperation relations already initiated in the past by the Navy's units in the region, the stop of the Marceglia ship in Singapore reaffirms the Italian Defence Force's desire to strengthen cooperation with regional partners and reinforce the positioning of national industry.
To this end, an Industry Forum will be held on board on 5 May, with the participation of partners and local authorities. The ship will also support some activities related to the Singapore International Maritime Defence Exhibition (IMDEX), one of the most important events in the naval and maritime defence sector in Asia, which will take place at the Changi Exhibition Centre from 6 to 8 May 2025.
