New air connections between Genoa and Warsaw and Krakow were presented today at a ceremony at the Italian Embassy in Warsaw, promoted in cooperation with Wizz Air, Genoa Airport, ICE Agency and AICE Poland. The initiative, entitled 'Wings over Genoa: routes to Poland', was attended by institutional representatives, tour operators, and Italian and Polish companies. In his opening greeting, the Italian Ambassador to Poland Luca Franchetti Pardo stressed how "these new routes are a further thread with which to thicken the weave of people-to-people ties between Italy and Poland, the true foundations of the excellent relations between our two countries," and went on to highlight the strategic value of Genoa as a tourist, cultural, and industrial hub: "Genoa is an emblematic city in terms of history, culture, cruising, and logistics. The direct connection with hubs such as Warsaw and Krakow also opens up new opportunities on an economic and commercial level'. The event was also attended by Joanna Doberszyc-Toulsaly from the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Franco Aprile (President of AICE Poland), Enrico Musso and Francesco D'Amico from Genoa Airport, and Tamara Nikiforova, Senior Manager of Wizz Air. The day ended with a networking and territorial promotion moment, dedicated to 'Genoa in the Mediterranean', aimed at strengthening cooperation between institutions, businesses and tourism operators.
