The Italian Ambassador to Ethiopia, Agostino Palese, accompanied General of the Army Corps, Massimo Menniti, commander of the Carabinieri Corps mobile and specialised units, on his visit to Djibouti, on the occasion of the conclusion of the training course for the Djibouti Gendarmerie.
During the visit, the action of the Carabinieri in support of the Djibouti Gendarmerie and the Somali police was emphasised, as well as the strategic importance for Italy to continue investing in the Italian military support base (Bmis) and in the Horn of Africa region to protect Italy's national interest.
