With 'Destination Italy', the Italian Embassy in Vietnam, in collaboration with VF Worldwide Holdings and Vietnam Airlines, presented the Italian tourism offer and the new direct Hanoi-Milan Malpensa flight at the Italian Visa Application Centre in Hanoi.
In the presence of Vice President of the Vietnam National Tourism Authority, Ha Van Sieu, Ambassador Marco della Seta stressed the importance of the first direct flight between the two countries, the result of a coordinated institutional effort involving both governments and the Italian Embassy. "A direct flight is more than just a connection. It is a strategic tool to deepen cultural ties, support tourist flows in both directions, and promote the uniqueness of the Italian tourist offer,' said della Seta.
The Hanoi-Milan route will be operated with Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft and will have three weekly flights, on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
In 2024, Vietnam welcomed around 90,000 Italian visitors, and there are around 6,500 tourist visas issued to Vietnamese visitors to Italy, with flows growing in both directions.
