The Italian Cultural Institute of Sydney and the Embassy of Italy in Wellington are collaborating for the fifth consecutive year with 'Cinema Italiano Festival New Zealand', which is staging a film festival focusing on contemporary Italian films.
With this year's edition, the Festival, created by Paolo Rotondo and Renee Mark, reaches its tenth anniversary. The feature of this festival is that the screenings take place over a seven-month period, in 20 different cinemas in rotation throughout New Zealand.
The 2025 calendar sees over 1,000 screenings, with a programme that also includes two titles co-presented by the Sydney Institute. These are Michael Radford's 'Il Postino' (1994) starring Massimo Troisi and Riccardo Milani's 'Un Mondo a Parte' (2024) starring Antonio Albanese.
