The European Multi-Mission Frigate Antonio Marceglia of the Italian Navy docked at the port of Busan, as part of its operational projection campaign in the Indo-Pacific.
On board, Commander Alberto Bartolomeo and the Italian Ambassador in Seoul, Emilia Gatto, welcomed more than one hundred guests, including, in addition to the military authorities, a delegation from the Korean National Assembly, representatives of leading companies in the local naval sector (including HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, Hanwha Ocean, KORDEF, and Hyunjin Shipbuilding), and Italian presences including Fincantieri Next Tech Korea and Leonardo. The visit, which showcased the advanced technological and operational capabilities of the Italian shipbuilding industry, represents a strategic opportunity to further promote cooperation between the two nations in the naval and defence sector, which has recently seen a progressive strengthening of bilateral relations with an increase in joint projects.
