On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the first Tunisian-Italian archaeological mission, the Italian Development Cooperation Agency in Tunis took part in an event organised by the National Heritage Institute, the Italian Embassy in Tunisia and the Italian Cultural Institute in Tunis, at the Bardo Museum to take stock of the current situation of cooperation and future challenges in the sector. This was announced by the AICS Tunis itself in a note on its social channels, pointing out that, as part of a round table, the deputy director of the AICS Tunis, Annamaria Meligrana, exchanged information with representatives of the National Heritage Institute, the Central Institute for Restoration and the Central Institute for Archaeology on the experience of Italian cooperation in the field of heritage conservation, emphasising the importance of linking the exchange of expertise in restoration and heritage conservation to the dynamics of sustainable local development. This event contributed to strengthening the dialogue between Tunisian and Italian institutions, laying the foundations for future collaborations and reaffirming the key role of culture as a vector of cohesion and socio-economic development.
