"In our preliminary investigations, no damage or negative situations were found on highways, airports, trains and subways," he said. This was stated by Turkey's Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloglu, after the 6.2 magnitude earthquake that struck the Silivri area on the Sea of Marmara west of Istanbul and was felt in the city on the Bosporus.
"No adverse events have been reported so far to our emergency centre and hospitals," Health Minister Kemal Memisoglu said, reports Anadolu, while Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said no calls had been received from citizens reporting damage to buildings due to the quake.
Turkey's disaster and emergency agency Afad said investigations were still underway to determine whether there had been any damage due to the earthquake.
