Since last February, the Russian Federation has not paid pensions to about 4,000 Russians living in Estonia, accumulating a debt of about EUR 680,000. This was reported by the Ministry of Social Affairs.
Russia reportedly only paid the pensions of five World War II veterans.
To try to clarify the situation, the Estonian Foreign Ministry summoned the Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Tallinn.
Of the 4,000 recipients of Russian Federation pensions, just under 3,800 also receive an Estonian pension.
