In cooperation with Umeå University, the Italian Embassy organised an event on 14 March 2025 on 'Technology and Performance in the Renaissance. The Musical World of Leonardo da Vinci'.
The event was hosted in the Humlab laboratory, a research facility and important academic reality in the Swedish region of Norrland that inspires and develops the interaction between the humanities, culture, technology and information technology.
The Embassy's Scientific Attaché, Augusto Marcelli, met with researchers from the university in order to strengthen relations with the academic realities in northern Sweden.
In addition to strengthening dialogue, the Scientific Attaché's visit sought to identify new scientific and technological opportunities within an institution as important as Umeå University: fifth in Sweden with almost 38,000 students from 60 countries, over 150 study programmes and 1,800 courses, a quarter of which are taught in English, located in an area of strong economic development and of particular interest for Arctic research.
