The Green Link event, organised by the Consulate of Italy in Perth on the occasion of the Energy Exchange Australia (EXA) trade fair, as part of 'Italian Way' - Perth Capital of Italian Creativity in the World 2025, was successfully concluded.
The initiative, which saw the participation of leading Italian companies such as Saipem, Eni, Danieli, NHOA Energy and Nuovo Pignone (Baker Hughes), culminated in an Italian session within EXA, where concrete examples of industrial and technological synergies between Italy and Western Australia were presented, opening up new opportunities for economic and scientific cooperation between the two economies, characterised by broad complementarities.
A high-level delegation, made up of experts from the Politecnico di Torino, CNR and ISPRA, also laid the foundations for enhanced cooperation in mining and geo-resources research, with meetings with the Geological Survey of Western Australia and the School of Mining of Curtin University in Kalgoorlie that consolidated academic and scientific collaboration, focusing on sharing sustainability protocols in the mining sector and the recycling and reuse of critical and strategic raw materials.
"The Green Link event offered a unique opportunity to strengthen our partnership with Western Australia, a region of primary importance for the mining sector and energy transition, also with a view to the sourcing and sustainability of our industrial supply chain," said Ambassador Paolo Crudele.
"With the contribution of our scientific and industrial excellence, we support an ever closer cooperation between Italy and Australia, with mutual benefits in the long term.
Western Australia, with its wealth of raw materials, is the world's leading producer of lithium and a leader in the production of rare earths, and is assuming increasing strategic importance globally.
