The Italian Ambassador to Iraq Niccolò Fontana was received by Sheikh Abdulmahdi Al Karbalay, representative of Grand Ayatollah Ali Al Sistani, in the holy city of Karbala. The discussion between the two, the embassy reports, focused on how to better support the needy and the importance of promoting dialogue and peace.
Ambassador Fontana visited the two holy sites in Karbala, the tombs of Imams Hussein and Abbas, and will travel to Najaf tomorrow.
