The Italian Ambassador to Oslo, Stefano Nicoletti, presented the 'Italy Brilliant' award of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Norway to the Fincantieri group's Vard company. The award celebrates Italian companies that have distinguished themselves in the Norwegian market through innovation, quality, sustainability and social responsibility. The ceremony took place at the Renzo Piano-designed building that houses Oslo's Museum of Modern Art, and the prize was collected by Cathrine Marti, CEO of Vard.
The ambassador emphasised that the achievements of Vard-Fincantieri and Italian industry in general bear witness to the success of our country's industrial policies towards innovation, technology and attention to sustainability.
Fincantieri has been present in Norway since 2013 with the company Vard, which is positioned as one of the leading global players in the construction of ships to support offshore activities in the wind and oil & gas and self-driven sectors. Vard, which is based in Alesund, focuses on the construction of helicopter frigates with icebreaking capabilities.
