Yesterday evening, at the Residence of the Ambassador of Italy in Argentina, Fabrizio Lucentini, the presentation event of the football shirts for the new season of the men's and women's teams of the Italian Sports Club was held.
The ceremony was attended by the Ambassador, the President of the Club, Antonio Amerise, and the well-known presenter Iliana Calabró, as well as specialised journalists and prominent guests from the world of sport.
In his inaugural speech, Lucentini stressed the importance of the Italian Sports Club in preserving and strengthening the bond between Italy and the large Italian-Argentine community.
"Associations like the Club Sportivo Italiano are fundamental not only to keep alive the link between Italy and the numerous Italian-descendants present in Argentina, but also to give new energy to this relationship, nourishing it with current stories. We are well aware of the great social and integration value of sport, in this case of a sport like football, which is much loved and followed both in Italy and Argentina,' he said.
The event was an opportunity to celebrate the bond between Italy and Argentina through tradition and sport; a bond that is becoming ever closer, recently strengthened by the visit of the Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani, to Buenos Aires, during which he signed, together with the Secretary of Tourism, Environment and Sport of the Argentine Republic, Daniel Scioli, a Declaration of Intent for sports collaboration between Italy and Argentina.
