The Italian Ambassador to Serbia, Luca Gori, spoke today at the press conference presenting the second edition of "Cinema Made in Italy". The initiative will offer the Serbian public the opportunity to enjoy some of the best and most recent Italian film productions. The films will be screened from 6 to 11 December at the MTS Dvorana in Belgrade, where spectators will have the opportunity to meet some of the directors and actors starring in the films on the bill, including Sorrentino's young Partenope Celeste dalla Porta, Daniele Luchetti and Elena Burika, Francesco Costabile, Carlo Sironi, Lidija Kordic and Martina Scrinzi. The films will then be screened in cinemas in Novi Sad and Nis.
The event is organised by Cinecittà in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute in Belgrade and MTS Dvorana and with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia and the Italian Embassy in Belgrade. In addition to Ambassador Gori, the presentation of the film festival was also attended by the Director of the Italian Institute of Culture in Belgrade, Roberto Cincotta, and the Director of MegaCom Film, Igor Stanković.
"Cinema represents one of the leading sectors of our cultural promotion activities. It is a sector that is highly appreciated by the Serbian public and in which we are very active with retrospectives, such as the one dedicated to Marcello Mastroianni held in recent months, festivals, such as the Italian-Serbian Film Festival held in September, and individual screenings that are periodically organised throughout the country," said Ambassador Gori.
"The Cinema Made in Italy review is one of the initiatives we focus on the most," added Gori. "The films and Italian artists present offer the public a broad overview of Italy's current film scene and the contribution that an extraordinary institution like Cinecittà continues to offer to the production and promotion of Italian cinema abroad.
