Once again this year, the Italian Embassy in Tanzania is supporting the Swahili Fashion Week (Sfw), to be held in Dar es Salaam from 6 to 8 December. The Italian Embassy, in collaboration with the National Chamber of Italian Fashion (Cnmi), has promoted the participation this year of fashion designer Flora Rabitti, a designer already present in the Milan Fashion Week calendar and one of the beneficiaries of the Cnmi fashion trust grant 2023.
Flora Rabitti contributed to the fashion forum on 3 December, will carry out training activities for young Tanzanian designers and present some looks from her 'Florania' brand. The Sfw is the main event in the fashion industry in Tanzania and also involves designers from other countries in the region. This important initiative brings together the best fashion talents in Tanzania, promoting their creativity and fostering exchanges with the international fashion industry.
The Italian Embassy has supported the Sfw over the years, in line with the leading role that our country plays in the fashion industry and in full awareness of the relevance of this sector from a cultural and socio-economic point of view for Tanzania, including for the promotion of local traditions and youth employment.
