The Italian Ambassador to Croatia, Paolo Trichilo, visited the Minister of Economy, Ante Šušnjar, accompanied by the President of the Italian-Croatian Chamber of Commerce (former Senator) Aldo Di Biagio. In the course of the cordial meeting, the minister recalled that Italy is Croatia's leading trading partner and expressed his wish for the consolidation of relations. The topics discussed were mainly related to energy issues.
Rising energy costs and European efforts to strengthen the use of renewable energy sources require a transition in which the two countries will be able to cooperate within the framework of the EU and bilaterally. In this regard, the minister recalled the recent INA-ENI agreement on natural gas and the course activity with Slovenia and FVG for the so-called Hydrogen Valley, on which the Italian Embassy and CCIC had promoted a meeting last March, as well as other important ongoing projects.
