The Peruvian leg of the world tour of the 'Mei Experience Room - My roots are here', an immersive multimedia experience on Italian emigration conceived and realised by the Fondazione Mei - Museo Nazionale dell'Emigrazione Italiana, has landed in Lima. The event is organised in parallel with the world tour of the Amerigo Vespucci ship and is curated by Ett, a Genoese company of the Scai Group, which designs and produces multimedia set-ups for culture, tourism and events at an international level. This was reported by the Museum in a press release.
In addition to some members of the Italian-Peruvian community, the Italian ambassador to Peru, Massimiliano Mazzanti, the president of the Mei Foundation and promoter of the 'Mei Experience Room', Paolo Masini, the director of the Italian Cultural Institute in Lima, Silvia Vallini, the president of the Italian Cultural Institute in Lima, and the president of the Mei Foundation and promoter of the 'Mei Experience Room', Paolo Masini, will be present at the inauguration, scheduled for tomorrow, Silvia Vallini, the President of the Italy-Peru Friendship League, the Honourable Manfred Schullian, as well as Senator Mario Borghese and MP Fabio Porta - both elected in the South American division - and the President of the Justice Commission, Ciro Maschio.
By means of full-wall multi-projections, the MEI Experience Room tells the story of the link that migratory flows have created between Italy and South America, foreseeing the development of different audiovisual contents in relation to the country where the stage takes place, with peculiarities, stories and specific characteristics of that territory.
The MEI Experience project has the ambition of following the various stages of the Vespucci to promote and deepen the history of Italian emigration in the various countries, but not only. It wants to be an immersive room at the disposal of the entire country system and, at the same time, offer visibility to the many Italian companies present in the various countries, which represent a real Made in Italy business card of professionalism and, at the same time, an employment flywheel.
The Peruvian stop - made possible thanks to the contributions of the Italian Embassy in Peru, the Italian Cultural Institute of Lima, and the Liguria Region - coincides with the celebrations for the 200th anniversary of the birth of Antonio Raimondi, the famous Italian scientist and explorer, who was in Peru in the second half of the 19th century and was already the protagonist of various initiatives undertaken in the cultural scenario of Lima, including the documentary exhibition inaugurated at the Italian Cultural Institute on 19 September.
