The Italian Cultural Institute of Cologne, in collaboration with the MiC - General Direction for the Performing Arts and the NID New Italian Dance Platform, is taking part in the 2024 edition of the Internationale Tanzmesse nrw, which will be held in Düsseldorf from 28 to 31 August 2024.
Organised by nrw landesbuero tanz, the Düsseldorf Tanzmesse constitutes one of the most important professional meeting occasions for contemporary dance, as well as an international forum for exchange, knowledge transfer and networking.
"The presence of the Italian Cultural Institute of Cologne and the NID Platform at the Internationale Tanzmesse nrw 2024, supported by the General Direction for the Performing Arts of the MIC, testifies to a renewed commitment to a shared action for the international promotion of Italian contemporary dance in the area," explains Jolanda Lamberti, director of the IIC "Our goal is to promote the Italian presence through work on the territory and dialogue with festivals and all the local reference realities of the sector, to encourage the development of shared artistic project paths, professional collaborations and co-productions"
In Düsseldorf, the Italian Cultural Institute of Cologne and the NID Platform will be present in the Area 14 ITALY space at AGORA, set up in Bertha-von-Suttner-Platz 1 and open to exhibitors and visitors from Thursday 29 to Saturday 31 August, to present Italian contemporary dance and the 2024 edition of the NID.
As part of the festival programme, the Institute also supports the presentation of selected Italian proposals: Performance AeReA / Panzetti&Ticconi (28 August); Open Studio ANAHIT / Giorgia Ohanesian Nardin (29 August).
Finally, the opening night of the event will be Italian, to be held on 28 August from 9 p.m. in the foyer of the tanzhaus nrw in Düsseldorf. On this occasion, a performative musical proposal inspired by Italo Disco will be presented to the event audience, with a live DJ set by musician Gaetano Scognamiglio.
