New lighting is illuminating
the mix of art, fashion and music forming the background for the
90th edition of international trade fair Pitti Uomo, which runs
through Friday.
Events include a concert by the ensemble Piano Twelve of 12
pianists and a solo performance by Giovanni Allevi in Piazza
Pitti, as well as new lighting for Palazzo Pitti, which gave
birth to the Florentine event, donated by the Centro di Firenze
per la Moda Italiana (CFMI), Florentine center for Italian
fashion, following an agreement signed by its president Andrea
Cavicchi and Uffizi Gallery director, Eike Schmidt.
Everything was possible thanks to CFMI as well as the
cooperation with the ministry for economic development and
Italian Trade Agency ICE , in collaboration with Unicredit.
"I thank institutions for the cooperation they are
offering, aimed at enhancing Florence's role in the world of
fashion", said Cavicchi.
"We are proud to be able to offer to the city a free
musical event of quality thanks to the performance of the young
pianists with Piano Twelve, who starred at Expo, as well as
Maestro Giovanni Allevi who will accompany us in the project for
the new lighting of Palazzo Pitti's facade, made by Silfi Spa,
where fashion was born over 60 years ago".
Cavicchi also thanked top Italian tailors in the Classico
Italia group at Pitti and Unicredit, with which he said the
Centro Moda has been cooperating for years to help small and
medium-sized companies in Italy, on behalf of CFMI and its whole
group that Includes Pitti Immagine.
