Barbie, the ironic pink pop
phenomenon by Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach, has already become
Italy's third biggest box-office hit of the year after after
Avatar - The Way of Water and Super Mario Bros - The Movie,
according to the latest receipts.
The cult phenomenon starring Margor Robbie and Ryan Gosling on
Saturday raked in a further 1.3 million euros across Italy to
reach 16.7 million euros in overall sales in the Bel Paese,
behind Avatar on 44.7 million and Super Mario Bros on 20.3
million.
On Saturday Barbie easily beat off the competition of Tom
Cruise's Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One which
brought in a further 164,000 euros to bring its total earnings
to 3.8 million.
