Måneskin's July 9 Circo Massimo concert has sold out with the Eurovision winners selling over 70,000 tickets for the ancient Roman venue.
The Roman rockers, who recently snagged the Best New Alternative Artist prize at the iHeart Music Awards 2022, kick off their sold-out Italian tour on April 28 at the Arena di Verona and June 23 at the Stadio Comunale G. Teghil di Lignano Sabbiadoro.
They will go on to play the biggest international festivals including Live al Coachella, Rock Am Ring & Rock Im Park, Reading & Leeds Festival, Lollapalooza, Rock Werchter, Rock in Rio and many others.
This year will also see their first world tour, the Loud Kids tour, with 53 concerts including 23 summer dates in major venues in Europe and North America as well as the most important Italian rock venues.
Damiano, Victoria, Thomas and Ethan "brought rock back to the USA", Variety said after the Roman rockers supported the Rolling Stones in a sold-out concert in Las Vegas last year.
The US entertainment Bible said the foursome who rose to fame after coming second in Italy's X-Factor five years ago had "defied the odds" in achieving transatlantic stardom, consecrated by appearances on The Tonight Show and the Ellen Degeneres Show.
In a profile of Victoria De Angelis (bass), Ethan Torchio (percussion), Thomas Raggi (guitar) and Damiano David (vocals), Variety described the wild scenes at their gigs at New York's Bowery Ballroom and the Roxy in LA, where legends like Guns N' Roses have played.
"It was fantastic to play such an iconic place," Damiano was quoted as saying, "not only for Guns N' Roses but for all the other legends that appeared here. It makes you realise that you're doing something great, cool, a great feeling".
On opening for the Stones at the Allegiant Stadium, Victoria recalled that she had tried to see Mick Jagger and Co at the Circus Maximus in Rome.
"I didn't have tickets so I tried to get in by dodging through the fence. I didn't succeed but I managed to see them in a couple of songs." Variety said "from teenage would-be gate-crashers to a group that opened for the Stones, it is just one of the many significant moments that the band has enjoyed." Maneskin's cover of the Four Seasons hit Beggin' shot to number one in the Spotify charts.
