British DJ, musician and record producer/mixer Fatboy Slim is to head up New Year celebrations in Parma on December 31 with a public performance in the courtyard of the late 16th-century Palazzo della Pilotta.
The event, sponsored by the Parma city hall and Teatro Regio,
is free of charge.
Known also by his birth name Norman Cook, Fatboy Slim is
considered the king of 'Big Beat', a blend of house, breakbeat,
rock, hip hop and R&B.
He will be joined on stage by Dj Rocca and journalist and DJ
Fabio De Luca, author of the book 'Discoinferno' on dance music
culture in Italy and abroad.
Fatboy Slim is so far the only big international name
performing a New Year's Eve set in Italy.
Parma is increasingly becoming a high-profile venue for big
music events after a Philip Glass concert a month ago and
Girogio Moroder last New Year's Eve.
