Scottish director
Michael Caton-Jones' film "Urban Hymn" won the Generator +18
category at the 46th Giffoni Film Festival, whose winners were
announced Sunday by festival director Claudio Gubitosi and his
artistic staff.
British director Joe Stephenson's "Chicken" took second
place in the Generator +18 category.
"The Violin Teacher" by Brazilian director Sérgio Machado
took first place in the Generator +16 category, with second in
that category awarded to Irish director Simon Fitzmaurice's "My
Name is Emily".
French director Lola Doillon's "Fanny's Journey" won top
honors in the Generator +13 category, followed by German
director Kai Wessel's "Fog in August".
In the Elements +10 category, German director Dominik
Wessely's "Nelly's Adventure" won first place, with "Tsatsiki,
Dad and the Olive War" by Swedish director Lisa James-Larsson in
second.
German director Joachim Masannek took first place in the
Elements +6 category with his "The Wild Soccer Bunch - The
Legend Lives!", followed by "Zip & Zap and the Captain's Island"
by Spanish director Oskar Santos.
American director Shaleece Haas won the Gex Doc category
with her "Real Boy", with second in that category going to
Danish director Michael Graverson's "Dreaming for Denmark".
