Tickets went on sale Friday
for a special Foo Fighters concert on November 3 in Cesena,
which will kick off the American rock band's European tour.
The Foo Fighters, founded in 1994 by former Nirvana drummer
Dave Grohl, will perform in Cesena as a promise kept following
the July video invitation produced in the event Rockin'1000,
which has currently been viewed more than 25.7 million times on
Youtube.
In the video, a thousand musicians played and sang the
band's song 'Learn to Fly' in an attempt to persuade the band to
play in Cesena.
"I'll never forget that day, when friends inundated my cell
phone with messages about a video on Youtube," Grohl said.
"I thought it was only another cat trapped in a paper bag
so I didn't watch, but after 10,000 messages I clicked. Seeing
so many people put forth time, effort and love moved me to
tears. It's tough to express in words how honored it made me
feel. It was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life,"
he said.
"I'm excited and honored to come play in Cesena. An
experience like this happens once in a lifetime".
