BBQ Expo is set to take place in
Parma.
The event focusing on barbecue will be organized April 11-14
2026 by Fiere di Parma, which has bought 50% of shares.
"Being leaders in Food&Beverage means to us creating an
increasingly integrated ecosystem, which includes the main
supply chains and emerging trends of the agri-food sector",
explained the CEO of Fiere di Parma Antonio Cellie.
And "BBQ Expo is part of our project with Cibus and Tuttoffod,
widening the portfolio of products and alliances of Fiere di
Parma and boosting the promotion of Made in Italy at an
international level", he added a few weeks after the acquisition
also of the Roma Bar Show.
Figures regarding the BBQ sector are encouraging: it was worth
118 million euros in 2024.
Moreover, it is expected to grow by 4.69% and estimated to be
worth 150 million euros by 2029, according to market research
company Mordor Intelligence.
The alliance with Fiere di Parma "will allow us to continue to
grow and consolidate our role within the European BBQ scenario",
stressed Mauro Grandi, Director of BBQ Expo-Area Fiera.
The barbecue sector in addition promotes the consumption of
"high-quality meat and reflects the interest of Italian
consumers for new preparation styles", added the president of
Assocarni, Serafino Cremonini.
"Today, worldwide, there are some 350 KCBS challenges, while in
Europe we have returned to a calendar of some 25-30 annual
challenges.
"It is an important sign of recovery after the difficult years
of Covid, and Parma can become a point of reference not only for
the old continent but also for the intercontinental circuit",
concluded Haymo Gutweniger, a KCBS representative since 2015.
