The brother of the widow of a police
escort agent who died with anti-Mafia magistrate Giovanni
Falcone in a Cosa Nostra bombing on May 23 1992 was sentenced to
12 years in jail on Mafia charges on Thursday.
Giuseppe Costa, brother of Rosaria, the widow of escort agent
Vito Schifani, was found guilty of mafia association.
In the same trial, boss Gaetano Scotto got 20 years and his
brother Francesco Paolo 12.
For them too, the charge was mafia association.
Rosaria Schifani famously asked the Mob bosses who killed her
husband, Borsellino and his wife Francesca Morvillo and two
other police escorts, Rocco Dicillo and Antonio Montinaro, to
kneel and repent their sins at his funeral.
