The head of Italy's surgeons and
dentists federation, Filippo Anelli, said after fines against
doctors in Bari for working too long during the COVID pandemic
were suspended that self-sacrifice had won out in the long run.
"The suspension of sanctions by (social security agency) INPS ,
pending their cancellation, is a sign of attention towards
professionals, and a fair assessment of their daily commitment
and abnegation shown during the pandemic", said the president of
Fnomceo, the National Federation of the Orders of Surgeons and
Dentists, Filippo Anelli, on the case of the Bari Polyclinic
Hospital.
Anelli thanked the Minister of Labour, Marina Calderone "for the
timely intervention" and the President of the Republic, Sergio
Mattarella "for having, once again, shown his solidarity with
the doctors".
Calderone instructed INPS to suspend the fines after input from
Mattarella.
