Ecological Transition Minister
Roberto Cingolani said Tuesday that Italy should have enough gas
to get through the winter despite uncertainty about supplies
from Russia amid the war in Ukraine.
"We have made the country secure. We should have a tranquil
winter," Cingolani told an RCS Academy webinar on the Repower EU
Plan.
"Our stocks are full. We'll have problems with the prices, but,
if the G20 summit concludes with something positive on the price
cap (for gas), we will have resolved the situation.
"Unfortunately, we won't remove the hardship families and
businesses are facing.
"We proposed a price cap months ago. The European Commission was
slow, then it sped up.
"Let's also hope that the war ends".
