An 85-year-old Italian nun was knocked
down and killed by a young male driver while walking across a
pedestrian crossing on the Aurelia state highway near Imperia in
Liguria on Friday.
The accident happened at Vallecrosia, not far from the
Waldensian House.
The young man stopped straight away and phoned for help but a
medivac copter was sent back after the nun's desperate condition
became apparent.
