Vallanzasca hit a prison guard on the leg with a bag Friday
forcing him to leave his duties, sources said.
The incident happened in Milan's Bollate prison.
Vallanzasca, 67, was a powerful figure in Milan's underworld
in the 1970s.
He is serving four consecutive life sentences plus 290 years
for a string of robberies, kidnappings, and murders.
Vallanzasca inspired a 2010 movie directed by Michele Placido
and starring Kim Rossi Stuart.
