A woman in her mid-80s died on
Monday in a blaze inside her apartment in the north-eastern
Italian city of Trieste.
The victim, identified as Anna Lozei, lived alone.
Her daughter reportedly lives with her family in the
apartment building next door.
Police are investigating the incident.
Officials said the woman's son-in-law alerted firefighters
who found the woman lying on her kitchen floor, her death
probably caused by smoke inhalation.
