Premier Giorgia Meloni said after
talks on Trump tariffs with business categories in Rome Tuesday
that Ital will ask the European Commission for a transitional
regime on State aid to help free up resources to be able to ease
the pain of the tariffs.
"We intend to immediately take action to start a strong
negotiation with the EU Commission for a transitional regime on
State aid and greater flexibility in the revision of the NRRP,
in the use of cohesion funds and in the definition of the Social
Plan for the climate", she said.
"We are committed - she added - to identifying all the
resources, starting from those available that do not have an
impact on public finances, and we are here to start a discussion
with you on how to best spend these resources".
