Paolo Scaroni will not step down as
chairman of AC Milan after the government appointed him the
president of Italian power company Enel on Wednesday, sources
said on Thursday.
The 76-year-old made being able to stay on at Milan a condition
for him to accept the post, the sources said.
He is expected, however, to step down from his position as
vice-president of the Rothschild Italia investment bank.
Scaroni was Enel's CEO between 2002 and 2005 and then went on to
spend nine years at the helm of another State-controlled energy
giant, Eni.
