European Cup finalists Sampdoria will play in the third tier for
the first time next season after Tuesday's 0-0 draw with Juve
Stabia condemned them to relegation from Serie B to Serie C.
The draw means the Genoa club, who have been in financial
difficulty for several years, finished in the direct relegation
zone in 18th place and missed out in a place in the play-out to
avoid the drop.
