Italy's world number one Jannik
Sinner will face Casper Ruud in the Italian Open quarter-finals
after the Norwegian beat Spain's Jaume Munar 6-3, 6-4 in Rome on
Wednesday.
Sinner come through a tough test to beat Argentine Francisco
Cerundolo 7-6 (7/2), 6-3 on Tuesday and progress from the fourth
round.
The 23-year-old, who is back in action in Rome after a
three-month suspension for a doping offence, was especially
resilient in the first set, when clay-court specialist Cerundolo
frequently put him under pressure on his serve.
