The centre-left held Trento in
Sunday's local elections in Trentino Alto Adige with incumbent
Mayor Franco Ianeselli set for re-election with 54% of the vote
with almost all of the ballots counted.
The centre-left Democratic Party maintained its status as the
top party in the city, with 24.8% of the vote, while Premier
Giorgia Meloni's right-wing Brothers of Italy (FdI) got 14.3%
and Matteo Salvini's League won just 4.3%.
Bolzano, on the other hand, will go to a run-off between the
centre-right's Claudio Corrarati, who won 36.3% in the first
round, and the centre-left's Juri Andriollo, who got 27.3%.
