Deputy Premier and Foreign
Minister Antonio Tajani said Tuesday that the three-day truce on
combat activities in Ukraine announced by Russia was
meaningless.
"A three-day truce that then gets breached in 200 cases is
meaningless," Tajani said on the sidelines of the EPP Congress.
"This cannot be Russia's response to the American (ceasefire)
proposal.
"The American proposal goes in a completely different direction,
we support it.
"We must achieve a ceasefire so that Zelensky and Putin can then
sit around a table to achieve a more ambitious goal - that of
peace".
