Young people were out in force at
Pope Francis's funeral on Saturday, with many saying they
appreciated the late pontiff's efforts to promote peace and help
the needy.
"Pope Francis was unique because he sought peace between
peoples," one young mourner said.
"It will be difficult to have another one like him.
"He was the historical figure to have done the most to create
concord between peoples".
Many of the young people in the crowd said Francis was "a
father, a grandfather" who dedicated his life to those most in
need.
"He would have wanted us young people near him in St Peter's
Square, and not all these powerful people, while we are far
away," said one young person.
