Pope Francis prayed for Ukraine and
will be an eternal memory, Ukrainian President Volodymy Zelensky
said after the Argentine pontiff's death at the age of 88
Monday.
"Millions of people around the world are mourning the tragic
news of the death of Pope Francis," he said on social media.
"His life was dedicated to God, to people and to the Church. He
knew how to give hope, alleviate suffering through prayer and
promote unity.
"He prayed for peace in Ukraine and for Ukrainians. "We mourn
together with Catholics and all Christians who sought spiritual
support in Pope Francis. Eternal memory!"
