AS Roma managed to draw 1-1 with
Lazio on Sunday in the Italian capital's derby thanks to a
spectacular strike by Argentine midfielder Matias Soule and a
series of excellent saves by goalkeeper Mile Svilar.
Defender Alessio Romagnoli had opened the scoring shortly after
the break for Lazio, who failed to put away a series of good
chances.
Both teams remain outside the top four and the Champions League
qualification zone with six games to go.
Lazio are sixth with 56 points, three points behind
fourth-placed Juventus, who beat relegation-threatened Lecce 2-1
at home on Saturday, while Roma are two points further back in
seventh.
Atalanta consolidated their hold in third place by beating
Bologna 2-0 at home on Sunday.
The Bergamo side have 61 points, 10 fewer the leaders Inter, who
beat Cagliari 3-1 at San Siro on Saturday, while Bologna dropped
to fifth place with 57.
Second-placed Napoli entertain third-from-bottom Empoli later on
Monday looking for a win to cut champions Inter's lead back down
to three points.
