A dozen public officials have been
registered in the register of suspects by the Naples
Prosecutor's Office in a probe into the collapse of a gallery
that occurred last July in the Vela Celeste in Scampia in
Naples, which caused three deaths and 11 injuries, including 7
children, judicial sources said Friday.
The collapse occurred on the evening of July 22, a Monday,
shortly after 10:30 p.m., in the Camorra mafia drug-ridden and
decaying Neapolitan area, which is currently the subject of
urban renovation after the infamous Vele have been demolished.
The crimes hypothesized by investigators are negligent collapse,
multiple negligent homicide and negligent injuries.
