Italy's privacy authority has said it
has opened a probe into DeepSeek and stopped the new
Chinese-made AI app, which has reached the top of the downloads
list, from processing Italian users' data.
On Wednesday the app disappeared from Google and Apple's digital
stores in Italy after the authority requested information about
its use of personal data.
The watchdog said there was a "potentially high risk for
millions of people's data in Italy"
On Thursday the authority said that the responses from the
company that provide the app were inadequate and so it had
decided to take action.
