Luisa Morgantini, 84, former vice
president of the European Parliament and well-known Italian
activist, was stopped by Israeli police in Tuba, south of
Hebron, because she entered a "military zone", the Italian
foreign ministry said Thursday.
A journalist from Il Sole 24ore, Roberto Bongiorni, who was with
her, was also stopped.
Both were taken to the police station in the Kiryat Arba colony.
They should be released soon - according to sources at the
Farnesina - also thanks to the intervention of the Italian
embassy in Tel Aviv and the Consulate in Jerusalem.
